Atkinson Milling Company is a historic grist mill in Selma, North Carolina, that has been stone-grinding cornmeal, grits and other grain products since 1757. The mill uses water-powered granite stones to produce coarse, medium and fine cornmeal, self-rising meal, hushpuppy mix and biscuit and pancake mixes. Atkinson products are sold in grocery stores throughout the Southeast and online. The company also operates a country store and offers tours of the mill to educate visitors about traditional milling.
