California Dairies Inc. (CDI) is the largest dairy processing cooperative in California, formed in 1999 through the merger of three dairy cooperatives and collectively owned by nearly 300 family-owned dairy farms. Member milk is transformed into high-quality dairy products within 24 hours. CDI manufactures butter, milk powders, nutritional powders and innovative fluid and aseptic milk products for domestic and international customers. The cooperative produces two-thirds of California's butter and about one-fifth of total U.S. butter output.
