Cemoi is a French chocolate manufacturer founded in 1814 by Jules Pares in Arles-sur-Tech. Over two centuries it has grown into the largest chocolate maker in France and one of the world's top producers, operating factories across Europe, Africa, and beyond. The group expanded through acquisitions in the 1960s-1970s and built a new factory and R&D centre in Perpignan in 2008. In 2015 it launched the Transparence Cacao program to control the cocoa supply chain from planter to consumer, and in 2017 acquired American confectioner Chris Candies to broaden its private-label business. The Belgian family-owned Sweet Products group purchased Cemoi in 2021, creating one of the world's largest private-label chocolate producers. Cemoi manufactures chocolate bars, couvertures, cocoa powders, candy, and private-label confectionery, emphasizing sustainable sourcing.
