Who we are

The Coastal Conservation League is a nonprofit environmental organization based in Charleston, South Carolina. Founded in 1989, its mission is to protect the natural landscapes, wildlife and coastal communities of the South Carolina Lowcountry. While not a food manufacturer, the League influences agriculture and food systems through policy advocacy promoting sustainable farming, land conservation and healthy coastal ecosystems. Programs include advocating for responsible land use and transportation planning, supporting local food systems and farmers markets, and protecting marshes, rivers and marine habitats. The League collaborates with residents, businesses and policymakers to shape public policy and offers educational resources and volunteer opportunities. Funding comes from memberships, donations and grants.
