Diversified Foods & Seasonings was founded in 1984 by entrepreneur Al Copeland to supply Popeyes chicken chain with proprietary batters and seasonings. Today, the Covington, Louisiana-based company develops and manufactures an extensive range of batters, breadings, biscuit mixes, sauces and spice blends for restaurant chains and consumer products sold in the U.S. and globally. Its Madisonville production plant, one of three manufacturing facilities, features an advanced culinary centre and 93,000-sq-ft production space capable of producing 100 million pounds annually. Diversified Foods collaborates with chefs and food scientists to develop customised flavor profiles and replicates them at scale.
