Who we are

The John Volken Academy is a non-profit residential addiction recovery program operated by the John Volken Foundation. Its long-term program helps men and women aged 18 32 overcome substance abuse through three phases of intensive therapy, life-skills training, education and community service. Participants work in social enterprises such as PricePro Hardware & Garden and PriceSmart Food to learn vocational skills and help fund the program. The Academy has campuses in Surrey, British Columbia; Kent, Washington; and Gilbert, Arizona, and accepts students from across North America. Founded by philanthropist John Volken, the program emphasises personal accountability, peer support, cognitive behavioural therapy and healthy living. Graduates leave debt-free with savings and the skills needed to sustain long-term recovery and successful integration into society.
