Founded in 1929 by the Claytor family, Southern Flavoring Company is known for its Happy Home brand of baking flavors. Originally created to support church fund-raising efforts with vanilla extract sales, the business has grown into a co-packer and private-label manufacturer of extracts, flavors and food colors. Today, the company still operates in Bedford, Virginia and remains family owned. It offers a full line of baking flavors (vanilla, almond, lemon and more), emulsions, food colorings and custom formulations for manufacturers and retailers.
